Biography
Rajinikanth Shivaji Rao Gaekwad was born as his mother and father Jijabai Ramoji Rao Gaekwad, December 12, 1949 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He was the youngest of four children, has two older brothers and a sister. After the death of his mother, he struggled with a poor lifestyle in its infancy. Rajinikanth had his formal education in Acharya Patasala and had his higher education at the Ramakrishna Mission in Bangalore. Between 1968 and 1973 he worked in many places in Chennai, so it moves continuously from Bangalore to Chennai. Rajinikanth did various jobs before joining the then Bangalore Transport Service as a bus driver. In 1973, he moved to Chennai to seek a career in acting and joined the Madras Film Institute with the help of a friend.
Acting career
Rajinikanth left his job as a bus driver and joined the Madras Film Institute in 1974. Rajinikanth made his debut in Tamil cinema through film with Apoorva Kailasam Balachander of Raagangal. He worked in Bollywood with andha Kanoon. Rajinikanth appeared in several movies in Hindi, like Chaalbaaz, Uttar Dakshan, Gangvaa, Hamaari Jeet, Naqli Asli, John Jani Janardhan, Adaalat Meri, Giraftaar, Hum, Farishtay, Tyagi and many more. Rajinikanth appeared in the 1988 movie American Bloodstone, which launched with much fanfare in India, but was unsuccessful in the United States. His 1995 film Muthu was dubbed into Japanese, while his 2005 film Chandramukhi was called in German and published in all German speaking countries. He has acted in about 101 films in Tamil, Telugu in 17, 11, 2 in Malayalam Kannada, Bengali and English one, and 24 in Hindi (apart from some movies where he made guest appearances in Hindi).

Rajinikanth's first film was Apoorva Raagangal, a film directed by Kailasam Balachander. Though Rajinikanth refers to director like Balachander his guru or mentor, director SP Muthuraman was actually revamped Rajinikanth's image entirely. Muthuraman first experimented with him in a positive role in Bhuvana Oru Kelvikkuri (1977), as a villain in the first half of the film and a protagonist in the second. Around this time Mullum Malarum (1978), directed by J. Mahendran, established Rajinikanth in the Tamil film arena as a movie hero. After over a three year sabbatical from cinema, at 52 years old, he performed in his home production, Baba, who published the August 15, 2002. The script revolves around a story about a gangster who later engages in spirituality.
